Core Breach: Suit up for Explosive Mech Action for a Limited Time Only!

Become a Mech Pilot between January 29 and February 4.

The hot metal action of World of Tanks: Mercenaries is getting cranked all the way up to 11 with the launch of Core Breach, a new mode that’s bringing all-out Mech action to the battlefield for a limited time only!

From January 29 through February 4, you’ll be able to suit up for explosive battles in Mechs, robotic metal combat suits controlled and used in combat by human Pilots. Jump into the cockpit of one of two titanium titans, the gigantic US Iron Soldier or the sleek and deadly USSR Steel Comrade, and start shooting and smashing your way to victory in epic 4 versus 4 deathmatches!

Core Breach: How to Play

Matches played in Core Breach Mode are 4 versus 4 team destruction battles, where you must work together with your teammates to bring down the enemy Mechs. Battles last for eight minutes, and victory is awarded to the team which has destroyed the most Mechs (or caused the most damage in case of a tie). Mechs can respawn, so you'll always have unlimited Mech fodder in your crosshairs! When the event is active, select ‘Core Breach’ from the main menu, then choose either the US Iron Soldier or the USSR Steel Comrade to begin a battle.

Both Mechs are equipped with machine guns, lasers, and missiles. You can fire your currently equipped weapon using the right trigger. To switch weapons, press down on the D-pad (alternatively, press ‘A’ on Xbox or ‘X’ on PlayStation 4). Movement is controlled with the left analog stick, with the camera controlled with the right analog stick.

Unique to Core Breach Mode, respawning is enabled! This means that if your Mech is destroyed, your pilot will eject and jump right back into the action after 15 seconds. But watch out, you and your enemies are still dangerous even in defeat! The shells of destroyed Mechs will trigger a core breach explosion shortly after they fall, capable of leveling city blocks and destroying any Mechs still within the blast zone. After the core explodes, pickups including Health and Ammo packs will fall – grab them to keep your Mechs fighting fit!

Mechs can use Crews from any nation, and there is no cost for ammunition resupply and repairs. Customization, Equipment, and Supplies are disabled for Mechs, and battles will have no effect on your battle stats. Mechs gain XP which can be converted to Free XP, and while you can’t earn Silver through battles, you can earn rewards through special Core Breach Ops!

Choose your Mech: US Iron Soldier or USSR Steel Comrade

The US Iron Soldier is a larger and slower Mech, and while this makes it easier to target, its extra heft gives it a greater amount of health than its rival. Keep your enemies in your crosshairs, get up close and personal so you can land a full clip for maximum devastation, and use the Iron Soldier’s extra longevity to outlast the other Mechs!

New Battlefield: Old River City

The Old River City is a unique map built for epic showdowns! This once peaceful riverside town has found itself at the epicenter of an explosive war between giant Mechs and has since been evacuated to make way for these metal giants.

Rage across this snow-covered map to bring down the other four enemy Mechs, but don’t expect the buildings to keep you safe from fire... All buildings in Old River City are destructible, so shoot or smash your way through them to watch them crumble to your Mech’s feet and keep moving to stay on top!
