The updated Hidden Village map returned to the game on March 15th. We decided to remind tankers of its features and suggest the best strategies in this guide prepared by Wizard, our CIS community manager.
Hidden Village is a summer map inspired by the remote settlements where the ninja once dwelled in feudal Japan. Get ready to join the battle for the province in World War II mode!
NOTE: The map is unavailable in Cold War mode, due to the respawn points being exposed to fire from the very beginning of the round.
World War II: Available to Tier III-X
Size: 1000 x 1000 m
This is a symmetrical and balanced map – neither team has a clear advantage when respawning.
There are three areas on the map where the main battles take place: the mountains, the field, and the village. The choice of engagement depends on your vehicle.
Light Tanks
With light tanks, you should drive onto the field as fast as possible and detect the enemy team that has not yet left the spot. During the round, spot the vehicles that are going to capture the village.
Medium Tanks
Medium tanks should attack the village right away – the main encounters will take place there. The result of a battle often depends on who can push through the flank and get to the enemy base.
Important: If you’re driving a very slow medium tank (for example, the Super Pershing or any other vehicle with low dynamics but a well-armored turret), then you should choose another direction for the game – mountains.
Heavy Tanks
Heavy tanks should go to the mountains. After occupying the best positions near the rocks, and covering the lower armor plate, start firing at incoming enemy vehicles. You have two tactics for playing in the mountains:
From the rocks (coordinates G4, F5, H4, G5) – suitable for heavy and medium tanks with excellent armor.
From the hill (G4-G5) – suitable for the vehicles with good gun elevation/depression (if the gun lacks good values, avoid this point).
Tank Destroyers
There are eight spots on the map for tank destroyers – four spots for each base.
Artillery (SPG)
The Hidden Village map is perfect for tankers who like to play with artillery. Once you occupy certain points on the map, you will have the entire region at your disposal – no one will hide from you!
The most suitable locations for artillery are:
When playing on the Hidden Village map, remember the following:
Village – For medium tanks only (in exceptional cases, light tanks)
Field – For light tanks and fast medium tanks only
Mountains – For heavy tanks and tank destroyers
Don’t try to go to the village in a heavy tank or to the mountains in a light tank! Follow these simple rules to make the most of your game and to be an effective member of your team.
