Updated Matchmaking

New player matchmaking improvements:
 

We are shifting things for new players in Cold War Era 1 to give them better fighting chances! The following changes are being made for players who have played fewer than 30 Multiplayer/PvP matches:

  • They will face only other new players! They will be distributed among both teams with bots. 
  • Reduced wait times! In the case that a single new player is in the queue, they will be thrown into a bot match.

These changes will allow new players to get a friendlier Multiplayer/PvP experience without having to rely on Co-Op only to play with other live players. It will also keep veterans from being stuck in the small map rotation for new players while also preventing them from storming over new players. 

Team balancing improvements:

New players will be distributed evenly among teams so that they are not all on one team. This will hopefully result in the following:

  • Longer matches -  Teams will be balanced between new players and veterans of the game, leading to longer matches.
  • Better player experience - This will provide a better experience to both new and old players, requiring more skill and tactics to complete a battle. 

Cold War map pool expanded:

We have added additional maps into the Era 2 and 3 matchmaking pool to help provide a better and more diverse map rotation. This change increased the number of maps in Era 2 from 27 to 31, and for Era 3 from 21 to 31. In addition, maps are no longer on a set rotation and will now use the least recently used system for determining the map selected.

Key Card Multi-Open Support

Support has been added to allow players to open up to 20 Key Cards at the same time. This saves players a lot of time if they have multiple Key Cards to open. 

When you select to open a Key Card, an option will pop up to allow you to select how many you wish to open, up to the maximum of 20. Upon confirmation, the opening animation will play, and you will receive individual pop-ups for each Key Card opened.

General:

  • When moving to a new tank and pressing the Preview button at the same time, the correct tank now opens
  • Japanese tanks: Can now see the health of tanks that have a four-digit value
  • Platoon invitations can now be sent while platoon status is private
  • HUD status now correctly shows injured crew status when there are multiple crew members for the same role
  • Control Mode:
    • Addressed an issue where a platoon leaving the queue could get stuck in the garage
    • The "Reloading" command now works correctly after respawning
  • Cold War: Damaging an unspotted enemy now correctly shows the tank outline
  • Wrath and Lust 2D Commanders now correctly have 9 skill slots
    • Players who own these Commanders have had their Commander skills reset and XP refunded

  • FV4211: Fixed turret hatch collision to correctly take damage
  • Škoda T 50: Fixed clipping issues with the 100mm R11 gun on Turret 2
  • SMV CC-67: Barrel is no longer visible while in sniper cam (x4)
  • M3A2 Bradley: Adjusted gun depression limits over the rear deck to prevent the barrel from clipping into the TOW hatch
  • M3A1 Bradley:

    • Adjusted the tread audio to play the correct sound
  • Fraternité Char Mle. 75: Adjusted the rooster emblem to face forward on both sides

  • Ghost Town: Map border at K1 is no longer covered by rocks
  • Nebelburg:
    • Wall at K5 now has the correct collision
    • Adjusted rocks at K0 and C1 so you can no longer see inside of the rock
    • Adjusted the loading distance of props around the central castle
    • Fire no longer clips through the wall of the central tower
    • Wheat no longer clips through the truck
    • Blocked off access to a castle window at E5
  • Dezful: Rocks added around the hill at K0 to block access
  • Severogorsk:
    • Various spawn points are no longer floating in Multi-Base Assault mode
    • Adjusted rock at G6 so you can longer see inside of the rock
    • Trucks at E6 no longer clip into the building
  • Mountain Pass:
    • Snow now correctly accumulates on tanks
    • Adjusted rock at H4 to prevent players from getting stuck
  • Airfield: Adjusted rock at F8 to prevent players from getting stuck
  • Lakeville: Removed collision from all drainpipes on buildings so shells can pass through
  • Overlord: Adjusted the terrain at D6 to prevent tanks from getting stuck
  • Thiepval Ridge:
    • Adjusted rock at E9 to prevent players from getting stuck
    • Machine gun FX has been reduced
