Tanks Reforged is the initiative that overhauls vehicles from World War II mode and brings them in line with today’s battle standards.
This time, the team focused most of its efforts on the tanks from Tiers V through VIII in the T-62A line, although you’ll see that a number of related Tech Tree and Premium vehicles got updated as well! Additionally, a few Tech Tree tanks now will use an updated version of the S-54 gun that will do different amounts of damage with Premium ammo.

TECH TREE VEHICLES
Soviet Tier X T-62A Medium Tank
We improved the speed limit and the horsepower of the engine to make up for the lack of armor, mimicking the performance enhancements from the introduction of the T-62 into Cold War mode.
These improvements make the T-62A a more natural upgrade from the T-54. The increased speed along with this tank’s high DPM should prove to be a deadly combination in the hands of a skilled tanker.

Soviet Tier IX T-54 Medium Tank
The T-54 received a multitude of improvements in the Reforged Legends update. While it was performing well with these changes, we made further adjustments to account for the penetration changes being made to the LB-1.
These adjustments are to keep the upgrade progression intact between the weapons with the top gun being unchanged.

Soviet Tier VIII T-44 Medium Tank
The T-44 is the reason why this line was chosen for Tanks Reforged, as before these updates, it was the Soviet vehicle with the worst performance.
We started off by removing the dead weight (the 85mm guns) and creating a new 85mm stock gun. Visually, it will be the same, but it’ll have new ammo and stats that give you a fighting chance in battle.
Next, we improved the 100mm D10 gun with better gun handling and reload to address the drastic progression difference between the new 85mm gun and the 100mm LB-1.
Then, we moved on to the 100mm LB-1, which wasn’t doing terribly but certainly wasn’t doing great due to its lower penetration. This was increased along with improving the reload.
Finally, we have the 122mm gun. This one received some gun handling improvements, but the most notable change was the reload. We massively improved the reload for this weapon so that it becomes a usable option to choose from as an alternate top gun for those who wish to mount it.

Here’s another tank with the stock gun that needed to be removed and replaced by the 85mm D5T as the new stock gun.
The new 85mm D5T-85BM-1 will be added to the upgraded turret as a new top gun that is more capable than the existing options.

We made some adjustments to the aim time for better weapon progression to the top 85mm gun; we also provided a slight reload buff to the 122mm gun. Just some minor tweaking was needed here to bump up this tank’s performance and bring it in line.

The tank was really performing well only after it mounted the top gun. For the following vehicles, we replaced an existing version of the S-54 gun with a new version to change the damage values of the Premium ammo.
If you had the gun purchased prior to this update, you will receive a full Silver refund along with any Premium ammo mounted. You will need to purchase the new version of the gun to mount it to your vehicle; it will have the same cost as the refunded Silver.

We replaced the gun with the 100mm LB-1 to use the newly buffed penetration with a slightly improved reload.
The turret armor also was improved for better hull-down fighting to preserve the medium/heavy feel that these tanks originally had. The armor wasn’t holding up as it once did, so this should help give some of that protection back.
