Take your pick: all three lines of German heavy tanks have now been reforged. See what changes were made in this edition!
Tanks Reforged is the initiative that overhauls vehicles from World War II mode and brings them in line with today’s battle standards.
We’ve completed a feat for this edition of Tanks Reforged. With this week’s updates to the tanks leading to the Pz. Kpfw. VII, we now can say that tanks from all three lines of German heavy tanks have been rebalanced for the ultimate tough-as-nails tanking experience. So how do these changes compare to the changes made to the other two lines?

German Heavy Hat Trick
We’ve previously reforged two of the German heavy lines, so it’s now time to complete the hat trick by reforging the final German heavy tank branch.
The Tier VII and VIII vehicles were the main focus for this branch, as they were the most in need of updates to match today’s standards for both armor and firepower. At Tier IX, the armor is still holding up well, so this tank only received additional firepower improvements. There were no changes needed for our Tier X vehicle, as its armor and firepower are proving to be a reliable combination on the battlefield.
Along with these three Tech Tree tanks, we’ve updated various other Premium vehicles in the process.
The hull armor has been updated to match changes previously made to the same hull on the Ferdinand. It also received the additional turret armor improvements previously made to the Tiger I as well as the penetration improvements.
We’ve improved the performance of the various guns to bring them up to date and make them more competitive on the battlefield.
The turret armor has been upgraded to the same levels as the changes previously made to the Tiger II, along with the improved penetration of the 8,8 cm Kw.K. 36 L/56. The upgraded gun received various improvements to bring it more in line with the same gun on other vehicles.
Its armor is holding up really well, but this tank was lacking in firepower. Its level of firepower should now fit in between the Mauschen and the E 75 to fit in with the difference in armor and mobility of these vehicles.
We brought the armor edits from Tier VII down to these tanks. They’ll now be able to have some useful protection that allow them to play hull down. They’ll also be more effective on ridgelines to make use of their gun depression, superb accuracy, and aim time.
Improved shell speed and penetration will increase the ability to hit and penetrate targets, which allows this tank destroyer to make better use of its high rate of fire and great accuracy. These changes improve its effectiveness as a hidden sniper to engage targets at a distance.
While the vehicle is doing well in all areas, a stream request was made for more reverse speed. Looking into this, we agreed it could use a bit to be similar to the other vehicles.
